Well after a great music business conversation with a good friend of mine, I decided to write the truth about things. It wasn’t until I had this conversation that reality hit me. I really don’t care if you read this blog and take offense, sorry you’re getting called out!

I’ve been working on my music career since 2008. It wasn’t until 2009 that I experienced the realization of being in the business and the financial obligations it comes with. I’ve worked with some of the best in the business. I won’t name names, I’ll keep them anonymous. I paid out of pocket to work with these high profile industry producers. Of course they took my money and the end result was incredible music. I mean you would expect great things to happen with their stature in the business, but once the music is complete, they vanish.

So hear I am with this great record and clueless on how I can make something happen beyond social media. I mean I paid a $1000, shouldn’t there be something that they could do. I guess not.

From my experience, this goes with many people in the entertainment industry and doesn’t pertain to a specific line of work. Don’t get me wrong, there are honest people as well, but few and far between.

It all concludes to this…

Anyone will take your money, but will they deliver on their promises. Be careful and choose the people you work with wisely. I thank God that now I have honest people who deliver on their promises on a realistic level. It took 8 years. I write this for up and coming artists to be smart with their choices.
